A word of warning about BBQ grills

Postby Bigwoods » Wed May 16, 2007 10:09 am

A fella in the next town over had a nice new house and terrific garage. He has a Propane BBQ grill in there and the obligatory beer fridge. The fire inspector figured the propane tanks leaked and when the fridge kicked in a spark was created.

Most of the garage end of the house was lost, including a new Chevy pick up and a pristine 1967 GTO he was getting ready for a parade. He had owned the GTO 25 years.

Just thought I would mention this and I know I won't be storing gas tanks inside and enclosed building.

Steve,

I didn't quite know where to put the photos of my build. If you look in Members Designs you will see it under Northwoods. I started a new thread after I got the walls up.

Spars are on and I'm working and reworking the galley at present.

Thanks for asking.

...good story Greg...we had a discusion a while back and talked about how storing any pressurized (flammable)gas indoors(unless positive ventilation is on hand) was a no-no and against any kinda code...this includes bar-b-que tanks in the garage and 1#tanks in the back of your tear...take care with all explosive gasses!!!!!!!!!
