Help my daughter get her forum started...

Postby mikeschn » Wed Aug 01, 2007 4:08 pm

My daughter has a role playing forum, that she'd like to get jump started. Does anyone here like role playing? If so, would you be so kind as to check it out.

http://rttm.proboards61.com/

I know it's really off topic, but I'd appreciate whatever you can do.

Thanks,

Mike...

Apparently kids today really like this stuff.

What you do is jump into a story, as a fictitious character, and add to the plot.

Here's the description from Wikipedia...
In roleplaying, participants adopt and act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own. Roleplaying is like being in an improvisational drama or free-form theatre, in which the participants are the actors who are playing parts, and the audience.

The only "roleplaying" I'm familiar with is done between consenting adults, and one adult is often paying the other to participate.

So, yes, and explanation is quite clearly in order.

So, seeing as it's a camping role play, does that mean you can role play building a teardrop there? Oh, wait, I think that's what some of us are already doing here!

Okay, me bad.... :(
Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Okay, for what's it's worth, here's what I posted in her forum...

anyone want to help out?

http://rttm.proboards61.com/index.cgi?a ... 1186008493

We had just finished our tear and were on our first trip. As we were driving the shadows grew long and finally darkness overcame us. We were tired, so we got off the highway, where the sign said, "camping".

We followed the signs to the campground, but there wasn't one. Maybe we went down the wrong road, we mused. So we tried the other road. Nothing there either. By then we were getting tired and hungry... Let's see if we can find a parking lot or something. We can eat, get a quick nights sleep, and we'll be on our way before anyone wakes up.

Well, the closest thing we could find to a parking lot was this abandoned house with a huge driveway. It looked like no one had been here in years. So we figured, hey, it's free, and no one is going to bug us, right? So we pulled in. Little did we know...

 creepy over grown drive. Moss hanging from the trees and the fog rolling in. Maybe this isn't such a good idea.

This sounds like fun but I am wondering where I have time for more fun. My poor book is neglected........

So I guess if we want to help out, we shouldn't pop in and say, "Hey... I know your Dad!!!"

I'll stay out of it, but I showed this to my kids, they know what it is and said they'd help out... Gave them the link.

So this is the cute redhead daughter?

I'm a D&D dork. I've got the 3.5 stuff, the original D&D (basic, expert, etc.), and even Castlemolds to create my own plaster dungeons for miniatures. Oh, and I've got a ton of miniatures! I've got...geesh I think I just pegged out my dork meter.

Steve, No, it's not the redhead. It's my youngest daughter.

Thanks, Dean!
