More Tracker Receiver Help

Postby Ira » Mon Aug 06, 2007 10:07 am

What the heck does "satellite ready" mean? I wanna replace the unit with one that I can transfer my Sirius to. Do I have to look for "Sirius" somewhere, or is there something else I also have to buy?

I should have been born in 1910, because this stuff is confusing the crap out of me.

Ira, go to your local auto audio store as they have radios that are Ipod and satellite (Sirius) ready. We have the same radio in 2 vehicles and the tear and it's capable of that and CD/MP3 playback. You can also get a independent satellite receiver that will play through a RF modulator connected to you car radio antennna. My wife loves her Sirius service, I'd rather listen to my MP3 disks. Check out the JVC KD-G320 that's what we have. Danny

Thanks, Danny. I'll see if that unit is available at Crutchfield:

When you order it, they give you the special dash plate that I'll need, plus an easy to install wiring harness.

Well, they SAY it's easy.

Ira, try Best Buy or Circuit City they usually include installation on units over $100. My unit with remote was $120 but I got a discount by ordering one of them at http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/home.do and then went to my local store for installation. :D Danny
