The fast way downhill....

Postby angib » Mon Aug 27, 2007 6:44 pm

Now this is really off topic, but I've just been shown these vids and they're too good to miss - though the faint-hearted shouldn't watch....

Image

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWLbu1wIIEo is a downhill run by this guy - this is not CGI/animation, it's for real!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obvDwkfZdXA shows you the general idea of how this guy goes downhill and the stunning level of control he has.

I guess he could fit a hitch to one boot and tow a teardrop..... nah, maybe not.

That is sooooo cool. I want one of those suits. Fat lot of good it would do me in North Texas -- I'd have to move to Colorado.

CD

What a gas :applause:  . If they had that suit when I was 16 - 22 and that controlled route I would have done it as I did some crazy stuff on home built skateboards with clay wheels in the beginning. We were some of the skateboard pioneers in San Diego, CA. We would have someone drive us to the top of large hills and follow us for miles, it was great but not like this. :D Danny

Yeah, he could tow a trailer, but he wouldn't tow worth a damn going uphill!

Don't you know he hates potholes, speed bumps and rocks, not to mention the occasional parked car.

Wow---what a rush.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Which raises the interesting question - how did this guy get to be that good? Not dying from the mistakes made while learning is the clever bit.......

And I want to see the look on the faces of the motorbike rider and passenger as he passed them!

One car trying to make a pass from the on coming traffic would be the end of that.

How did he get to be that good? I always used to wonder that when I watch Ski Jumping --- I guess they start with mini jumps -- or in this case mini roads

Thats what I need............. well, 30 years ago it was. Now, if I got down on those wheels at 80 mph, I'd never get back up. But, sure would be a blast for a while.
