Is our new Felix a celebrity cat and LA landmark?

Felix (moto403) may be our first celebrity 8)
to grace our forum ~

Felix car dealership was started in 1921 in LA. Seems the guy who created the cartoon knew the owner of the dealership and somehow the image was able to be used by the car dealership by the word of the artist.

Here is a video of Felix
designated as an historic landmark

I remember Felix Chevrolet on figeruora blvd in L.A. when I was growing there. You see a few cars at car shows with the Felix the Cat sticks on them.

Wow  does that jog the old memory a bit. I remember that dealership as a child, would have thought it would have been gone by now. Steve, is that old Campus Drive In majorette and other neon signs still being preserved in a shopping mall on San Diego areas (Lemon Grove?) El Cajon Blvd? :D Danny

He does stories about out towns history every week on Sunday. If you
choose out of the selection of Video's you can have nostalgia at a click; Danny.

Thanks Steve, as I remembered it, will have to do a drive by next visit to San Diego. Some of those T.V. news personalities are still doing the same job and I moved away 20 years ago :o . It was always fun cruising El Cajon Blvd but I'm sure it has changed a lot. Does Larry Himmel (sp) still have a show? He had one way back with his wacky side kicks? I think it was a spoof on "Three's Company". :D Danny

Their displayed on the exterior of the buildings. ;) Danny

Danny

To be clear the neon sign you remember has moved to the first shopping center in San Diego. That is just a few miles away from the original Drive inn.

Here on one of the buildings she still twirls.
College Grove Center
Calif. Hwy 94 and College Ave.
San Diego, CA 92115
619.583.5313
A multiplex theater, Grove Bowling Center,
Mervyn's and a new Wal-Mart.

Danny remember Skippy & Biff?
Well, here on Larry's blog he discusses
why there will be no DVD with Skippy & Biff

and those out of control episodes.

Boy Steve you hit it right on the ole' nail head. Skippy & Biff and that blond girl would have us in stitches, what a dumb & funny show. This PC world we live in is so boring, it would be great to get a copy of that show. Thanks for the San Diego info, it would be fun to take the TD for a little trip there, but, I have about 8 more weeks of PT 3 times a week plus home work every day. Thanks :D Danny
