Barquito A Folding Boat

Postby Dee Bee » Sat Sep 08, 2007 10:41 pm

Hi Everyone

I finished building my folding boat. It is an 8 ft dinghy. Folded flat is is 4" wide, and 16 inches tall.
Image

When assembled, it becomes an 8 ft dinghy, much like the D4.

No it is my neighbor's shed. But I did help build it just to get the experience of working with timber framing...

Dan built it by hand. He timbered the frames, shaped them, and built each one. I only watched, learned and helped him set the frames and join them.

Nice boat  :applause: . I made a similar looking one from a sheet of plywood many years ago but it didn't fold like yours. I would have kept it if it did. Great job  Danny

Wow Dee Bee,

What a neat boat design. And I could live quite comfortably in that shop. :D It's actually nicer than some places I have lived over the years.
