Can you have propane tanks filled instead of turning them in

I saw a picture on a TD with the propane tanks polished to a mirror finish.

I have always dropped the old ones off and picked up new ones. Where would you go to have a nice looking set filled? I think this was a really cool idea. Sorry I don’t know who it was or have the picture.

You can have most any propane tank filled at your local LP gas suppliers; the same kind of dealers that run the tanker trucks to fill homeowners larger tanks. It is usually a bit cheaper than swapping tanks too. Those shiny polished tanks are most likely marine tanks... They make them out of stainless steel and aluminum, I think. Kinda spendy too. They do look cool though.

Many campgrounds can fill your tank for you.

I also live just down the road from a truck accessory place, and they fill my tanks for me.

And have you ever considered the fiberglass bottle? You always know how much propane you have left. They look pretty cool too!
