They still sell tons of these for use on top of 4x4s for camping while on Safari... so you don't get dragged off (and eaten) by a lion or tiger in the middle of the night!

Most of those car top rigs are rather expensive...

I like the old Checker Cab. My cousin used to have one in high school, man, you could fit a lot of drunk 18 year olds in one of those things!! 8)

Disclaimer- The legal drinking age was 18 in 1980 in NYS ( didn't want anyone to think I was an underage drinker!! )

This guy has about 3 of them (mayby 4). And I know 2 of them were not Cabs. They are absolutly "Cavernous" inside.

In high school I worked for a local ice cream place. This was in Kalamazoo Mi - home of Checker motors. The president would come by every so often with a 6 door checker marathon - each kid got to sit by the door - no middle seats.
