I have been a Ferrari fan since I started following F1 when I was a kid. I'm happy for Kimi and Ferrari...but I have really enjoyed watching Hamilton's rookie year. If Hammi couldn't win it I was happy that Kimi did...Anybody but Alonso!

You guys are counting your chickens before they hatch. There's a protest that if is allowed will put Hamilton back in the points lead. Seems like a few cars didn't past post race inspection including Kimi.

Not so much a protest as possibly illegal fuel in the BMW cars. As long as it is not Alonzo who wins I will be happy. In F1 for me it is more about not wanting certain people to win as it is wanting some other people to win.

When Ferrari is reclassified as the 'underdog' . . . . I'll start watching F1 again ;)

It'a all espionage and politics - Court cases and hundred million dollar fines. I prefer the winners to be decided on the track, thank you very much, so I don't even bother watching anymore

This from a guy who has seen 20 or 25 races in almost every Euorpean venue . . . . most of them more than once

Here in Finland on the News - Judges inspecting the gas used in Kimi Räikkönens car. Ferrari holding off on the Party till inspections are complete..

   What else..

SUNDAY NIGHT: Kimi Räikkönen wins F1 World Championship title
Victory in Brazil secures championship by a single point - unless stewards decide otherwise

In the sort of nail-biting climax to the Formula One season that would probably be rejected by a Hollywood producer as “too clichéd”, Kimi Räikkonen (Ferrari) became the third Finn to capture the Drivers’ World Championship at Interlagos on Sunday.

Victory in Brazil was enough to secure a one-point win in the title race, after Fernando Alonso finished third and his McClaren team-mate, the British rookie sensation Lewis Hamilton, could do no better than 7th place. Räikkönen's Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa took 2nd place.
Räikkönen, who at one point this season was no fewer than 26 points off the lead in the drivers' championship table, went into the final race seven points adrift of Hamilton and three behind Alonso, and his overall victory was indubitably a surprise - most of the races this season have seen McClaren and Ferrari cars filling the first four places.

Had this "routine" result come to pass, even winning would not have been enough for Räikkönen to secure the title. As it was, he emerged with 110 points, one more than Alonso and Hamilton. The British driver took the runner-up spot by virtue of having more second place finishes than his team-mate.
Räikkönen now joins Keijo "Keke" Rosberg (1982) and Mika Häkkinen (1998 & 1999) on the roster of Finnish winners of Formula One, and has probably put himself into serious contention when the time comes to select the Finnish Sports Personality of the Year.

And this to top it off.. :? :)

Naturally we shall return to this subject with more tomorrow morning, including the results of an apparent enquiry by Brazilian race stewards into technical irregularities in the Williams and BMW Sauber cars. As if this season did not already have enough twists and turns, on and off the track, were these three cars - which finished in 4th, 5th, and 6th place - to be disqualified, it would elevate Lewis Hamilton to 4th place and in so doing make HIM the 2007 World Champion.

The FIA has just ruled no penalty... Kimi is your champ.
Hamilton blew a 17 point lead in two races...

He's very talented, but still a 'novice' - You'll hear from him in the coming years

If he HAD won the championship in his rookie year, most folks would have rated it as a not possible 'miracle' - As it was, he's second by only 1 point, which is quite an achievement in F1 for a 22 year old

So does that mean ...Räikkönen now joins Keijo "Keke" Rosberg (1982) and Mika Häkkinen (1998 & 1999) on the roster of Finnish winners of Formula One..

Turns out it's NOT over

The fuel used in the BMW and the Williams cars was clearly out of tolerance (as it has already been one or more times this year) and McLaren has challenged the stewards ruling

They just discussed it on the Speed channel and if the FIA is at all consistant in their rulings, the BMW and Williams cars will most likely be disqualified . . . . which would improve Hamiltons finish enough to give him the championship

The 'soap opera' continues . . . . .
