Things that don't fit anywhere else...

sights along the way

The season is coming to a close for us further north and I thought I would share a photo not of my TD but of a sight that caused me to pause and snap a picture.

I would be fun to see other views that caused you to stop and take a picture.

Here is mine from a country road just east of Galena, IL, 21 Oct 2007

Here's one from my last teardrop trip to Ledges State Park, Iowa a couple weeks ago. It's the Des Moines river looking north. The river is running bank full this year from all the recent rains - usually it runs about the size of a large creek in this area. They say our peak fall colors were last weekend! Arggh! That means winter's coming!

The trees here are starting to change colors, but I haven't had a camera with me to take any pictures. You guys pictures are very good. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. I love when the trees change colors, but I hate the fact we are heading into winter and cold temps. :x

Hope someone with a camera posts some more.

Fall is my favorite time of year. Seeing these colors here in Wisconsin made me not quite so homesick for New England in the fall.

There's still some good camping weather ahead before the snow flies!

Oh Betsey that is a beautiful scene. We have several Maples in our neighborhood but mostly Oaks so the colors run to reds and browns.

Thanks Miriam... :)

Colors like that do need to be shared. The picture is not as bright as they were in person.

We had a sugarbush where I grew up in New Hampshire and my brother has one in Minnesota, so I am very partial to maples. There is a beautiful maple in a nearby state park that we have visited every fall since our kids were little. It stands on a hill in a field all by itself. We nicknamed it the "Burning Bush" because in the fall, it looks like it is on fire. It is truly breathtaking. Even though our daughter is in college and son is in high school, they still compare other trees to the Burning Bush. :)
