Anyone ride ATVs?

I have a Polaris 500 that is 11 years old.

I have been thinking about a new one. I really like the looks of the Can-am Renegade 500. 4x4, low gear, hitch, winch… great for work and play.

anyone else into ATV riding?

:D When I was younger, too old and feeble now. If I rode an ATV 100 yards over rough ground, there better be an ambulance, 2 large paramedics, and a back board to pry me off.

I am the only one in our family that doesn't ride. Right now, in our garage, there are 6 4-wheelers. My oldest son races, and so does his girlfriend. They are really, really into them. I'll ask them later if they have any photos to share.

They're nice, but don't like them driving through my camp.

I've got one myself, a 2001 Polaris Magnum. Most of my riding consists of pushing a sprint car in the summer and plowing snow in the winter. When I get another it will be a Polaris, (hopefully the fuel injected 850 4X4) most dependable thing I've ever owned!!
I have 3 more behind the garage right now, a 400 Scrambler, a 350 Warrior and a 250 Suzuki. They all belong to my brother and his family. The Scrammy and the Warrior are wicked machines, not exactly stock any more!! 8) 8) To wild for me to ride around!

I've had 4 ATV's over the years but sold the last one, a 1985 Honda 350x when they cut all the trees down by me and grew a zillion houses there. I loved the adrenaline rush (up to 70 mph) and riding @ Buttercup and Glamis in the Imperial Dunes near the California, Arizona, Mexico borders. The Oregon Dunes were great too. I miss riding :( Danny

I have a 2003 Artic Cat 500, winch, blade and a dump box. Use it for the summer fun and for the winter work. Has 450 miles and most of them are pushing snow.

Danny, they have just about outlawed the 3 wheelers around here. They are not welcome at a large majority of the organized rides that go on. I always thought they were pretty cool although a little tricky to ride and stay on top of. 8) Lots more fun than the big beasts everyone is riding now. 8)

Yeah, drunks and unsupervised children killed the 3 wheeler along with that Ralph Nator guy . It took some skill to ride. Unfortunately the average person had a hard time riding one safely, no safety training from the dealer or anyone else at the time. I occasionally rent a 4 wheeled one in the Oregon Dunes but it's not as fun to ride on a razor back dune. The 3 wheeler was a little bit of a challenge and I liked that. My 350X could beat a 250R up a dune race, it's the rider not the trike. :) Danny

Kate has a cabin in about 18 acres of woods that ATVers will occasionally tear through, or worse, stop to party and leave beer cans & other trash despite the fact that it's marked "private property" and "no trespassing." I've been thinking of piano wire strung between trees... :x

I realize that no one here would behave that way. Kinda like the slob hunters/poachers (which we also get out there) who give the rest of us a bad name...

I hope you don't :worship:. You could kill someone with that wire & it will result in a lawsuit and more. Danny
