Picks for the Super Bowl...

Postby Dean in Eureka, CA » Sun Jan 20, 2008 1:43 pm

In the AFC I'd love to see the Chargers take down Goliath, but 17-0 will become 18-0... Patriots win in a blowout.

In the NFC... Nobody will touch Brett Farve & the Packers at Lambeau, at night with kickoff temperature hovering right at zero... Not even Little Bro Eli.

They are talking -5 for kick off and -25 windchill!!(I went as far as getting the paper today and that is about it) I am hoping for the Packers and Chargers at the Super Bowl, but figure it will be New England.

Steelers, baby!

Oh, wait, they're out. Hmmmmm.

My choice now that the Steelers are out would be the Packers. But, NE is a freaking football machine, so I would tend to bet on them, if I were to bet on anyone.

I'd love to see Favre go out with another ring. I can't say that anyone on the Patriots team garners the kind of nationwide affection that Brett Favre does. Like I said, they are a football machine.

The NFL and a lot of SB advertisers better hope the Packers win tonight. Otherwise, half as many people will be watching the Super Bowl, IMO.

YEAH! That's the kind of football I like, either that or a wet sloppy field. The weather brings a totally new element to the game. Players that normally are infallible, make mistakes.

I gotta pick the Giants out of ex hometeam favoritism...the fact that the Giants have been awesome on the road and have managed to make the necessary adjustments...great defense...and they're gonna freeze their asses off out there.

Okay, even if they don't win, I still think it'll be a close game. Remember, they're only giving the Giants 7 1/2 here.

Looks like New England ain't covering the 14!!!

Well... It wasn't a blow out and I'm really not impressed with New England.
The Chargers had their chances to win that game...
I'm putting my sentimental choice on Green Bay at this point...
What a great Super Bowl it'd be if Farve and company end up beating New England.
They have to beat the Giants first and if the Giants find a way to win...
I won't be watching the Super Bowl.
Farve sure looks like he could be Little E's older brother... :R

Third quarter ending, Giants up by 3.

Well, for 80-percent of America, football season is over.

Nothing against the Pats and the Giants, but I have no interest in the Super Bowl, now. It's going to be a blowout, and I have no feelings for either team.

Oh, well.

Wow... My heart goes out to all Packer fans.
I said I wouldn't watch the Super Bowl if the Packers didn't advance, although I think what I just watched was better than the Super Bowl.
Congratulations Ira and to your Giants!!!
If anybody can beat the Pats, it'd be your Giants.
Just for you Ira, I'll watch the game and pull for your Giants.

Well since it's NE and the Giants, I have no dog in that fight and won't watch anyway, but I think NE will kick butt.

Another blowout prediction? And who cares about 80% of the country?

The Giants' win shows what total nonsense all of this hero worship is and the RIDICULOUS theories that because it's going to be "cold" there, the Giants didn't have a chance. Forgetting the Giants were 9 and 0 on the road, and now 10 and 0.

In the media, the love for Favre and the Packers won out against common sense.

But when they took the field, you had a New York QB who performed flawlessly and played the game of his life, with every teammate putting 110% into every move.

The Packers just kind of showed up.

I mean, the Giants missed two field goals, lost the toss for OT posession, but immediately intercepted and THEN won on a field goal?

You can't write stuff like this--and you sure can't predict it.

Yep I have no interest in either team also. I have to work Super Sunday so it won't bother me if I only see alittle bit of it. Oh, Go Giant's
