This whole country is beautiful it's just that California residence's have a longer fun season than most. Having fun is mostly a personal place not necessarily a geographical place, but it does help. I'll have to admit California is and always will be my favorite state since it's beautiful & I know it so well having lived there for 40 years. Washington & Oregon are beautiful too & we have lots of fun camping here. North westerners seem somewhat friendlier than S. Californians. Thanks for the great links. :D Danny

Every time I have been in California I have had fun but then I have always been on vacation and not had to daily fight the 5 or some other hiway going to work and back.

The midwest is fun. I love fresh catfish out of the Mississippi River and the people always seem to be real friendly.
I just signed up to attend the Midwest Vintage Trailer Rally in Wisconsin.

I found it fun and awesome in the vastnest of the sand hills if Nebraska. I stayed in Valentine and met a great old guy who had bought his wife a '51 Chevy new in '51 and he still drove it and we had great fun conoeing the Niobrara River.

I have had fun flying a kite in the wind off the Gulf of Mexico at Padre Island National Seashore in Texas, so much so I bought property in the area so someday soon I can spend my winters there.

I'm with Danny, if you can have fun where you are, then where can you go anywhere for a fun time!

The biggest thing I learned in psychology is that the more "rats" you cram in the cage, the more agressive they become. Accounts for a lot of what you see in urban areas.

Yep, just like Chicago, New York, Denver or any other big city. I wish that every one in So Cal that doesn't like the traffic would go back where they came from. That alone would improve our traffic. But it's hard to beat the all around weather and money. So we deal with it.

Didn’t I read somewhere that California has proposed a law that would make is illegal to have fun in any public place?

Ya, I remember… it was because all the poor illegal’s (oops, “undocumented”) are too poor and desolate to have any fun and it’s just not fair to them if others are able to have fun when they can’t.

I guess that is why Gage and I live out in the sticks. I was born and raised in the midwest, had a ball playing in the snow when I was a kid, but absolutely hated working in it when I became a carpenter. Went to Calif. on my honeymoon down route 66 and found blue skies and sunshine in January! Had to move out here and it was the best move I ever made. Never missed a minute in all of my years of construction supervision.

Yes, traffic stinks, houses are expensive, property taxes are high, so anyone planning on coming out here, don't do it. I don't mind all of the above, I'm retired and live out in the country, have plenty of room to park and work on my trailers. Love it.
Roly, and NO, I won't learn to speak Spanish, when So Cal becomes part of North Mexico. :x
