Cast Iron "freeflow" Headers were available on the big blocks in the very early to mid 60's. Correct me if I am wrong the 406 ? which later became the 426 / 427 this little bit of company engineering gave ford a breif advantage in the stock car racing series ( back when stock cars were STOCK)
Growing older but not up !

Hhmm. FE powerplant, which could be anything from a 332 to a 428. Those headers look awful close to the ones Ford Powertrain offers.

There's nothing like the sound of a built FE with a good set of headers & twice pipes. Dang it, now I miss my old 64 Galaxie. :-/

And yeah, you could get cast headers on the Galaxies in the early - mid 60s. 60 - 63 with 352HP, 390, and 406 got shorties, and late 63s and up had long tubes if you went for the P, Q, or R code option. Those originals are PRICEY nowadays.

Just to let those know that have been following my other project. For the most part, it is finished. Just have to clean up the wiring, change the plug wires and do some painting under the truck. Oh and also add new shocks (which are on back order). What I have done is add a 352 engine, Sanderson ceramic coated Headers, power steering, power brakes, sway bars front & rear and lowered it 4". Also changed the tires. They are now radials, 215/70 15's in front and 235/70 15's in back. And for added looks, added a 1 wire chrome alternator and an early Buick air cleaner and chrome GT valve covers. Next year I'll add a new larger gas tank under the bed and do some light body/paint work. 94' is when I did the body & paint, so it's time. Also mount the spare tire on the left side behind the cab (need to find a nice hard cover for it).

Yow, that's impressive work. More impressive is the energy to do it. Coming from a guy in the health and fitness biz - that's how retirement should be. Stay busy in your bliss and stay young!

P.s. Oh, and I like that little dudes non-stop workout jumping rope. He's workin' hard man!

Whenever I'd come into work and the previous shift says, "Yeah it's pretty much finished, all you gotta do is....." it makes me nervous because there is always more involved.
