Cars we drove in the 50s & 60s

Nice short movie with great music. I was born in the late 50s so I wasn't driving during this time frame. But I remember the cars (and music) and for some of you this will be a trip down memory lane.

gas

Postby kartvines » Thu May 29, 2008 2:47 pm

Back when I worked at the local Texaco, gas went for 28 cents a gallon, full service including checking the oil and washing the windows and checking the tire pressure. I remember when the windows squeeze washer came out, it was a great tool, did away with the spray bottle and cloth rags.
The time when clearing a hundred dollars a week allowed you to do almost everything with change left in your pocket, now those were the good old days.

Before the country went to war, 2 years later I was on my way to Viet Nam with many of the kids I went to school with, nothing was the same after we were forced to grow into adulthood.

That was a really cool video.
I have never seen most of the cars in real life that were shown, but I some a good amount of them in pictures. My brother can name them all, I just think they look cool.

Thanks for posting.

Well, for one thing there were a helluva lot fewer cars on the road...

Great video. Really brings back the early days. :D
"I wish I could go back.... but I was making $.75 /hour back then.

Maybe a time travel machine would be a good thing.
I clearly remember the late 50's through the late 60's as a great time for cars, girls, playing in the band, etc.

Money was limited , but boy, what a good time we had. :applause:

 COMMON SENSE

Too many people out there do not know the correct way to drive. Entering a busy interstate highway at 40mph, not yeilding the right of way, and not knowing what the colored lines mean that are painted on the roads.

Just stupidity.
