Cameras and Photography

Someone posted that they use 4gb cards in their camera. I think my cameras are too old to use more than a 1gb. I have a SD500 elph by canon and a Nikon d-100. Has anybody tried the bigger cards in an older camera. I love digital and because you can take so many pics it is hard to organize them. What methods do you use? What do you like to photograph?

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

. you might try a bigger card size. Our last cannon said that it only went to 1 gig, but would accept a 2 gig card. I know this may sound weird, but ever since we got our newer canon camera we shoot a lot of video with it (Powershot A540) it can handle a 4 gig card. We're thinking of ditching the camcorder since we carry the camera always - along with a few extra storage cards - pretty amazing advances
