Honey, can I start the teardrop build now?

How I spent my summer so far (or "to do" list status):

1. Build storage building - complete.
2. Install new front door to house - complete.
3. Re-roof house - contractor has completed.
4. Install new house siding - contractor has completed.
5. Add additional electric outlets and lighting in garage - almost complete.
6. Install new house windows - contractor has completed.
6. Replace interior window casing and sills - complete.
7. Enlarge master bedroom closet - complete except for tape and bed and paint.
8. Re-set "loose" ceramic tiles in kitchen - tiles set; neet to grout.
9. Begin teardrop - design finalized and some parts purchased; build has not begun.

#9?? Yes, your priorities are way out of whack. It SHOULD have been #1 like mine. Of course, all the others would never get done.

Sounds like you got your building skills tuned up with the storage building, now empty out the build space for the TD.
You hung a door which further fine tuned those building skills.
You did some electrical to learn a few things.
Skills further refined with window install.
Your finishing skills have been honed by the closet task.
And of course you have the general contractor lessons to help with locating outside resources for things needed for the TD.

I would say you were right to do all this practicing on something of less importance so that when the cooler weather grace you down in Texas you will be all set to do fine work on your Tear Drop.

Now get the saw dust flying!
