Seeing as how Halloween is almost here, tells us your story. The scarier the better.
When I was 9 or 10 years old, there was a couple in their fifties, I guess.....because they seemed ancient. And every Halloween they would set up a coffin with the man lying down in it, in a suit and he was made up kind of a greenish shade. His wife would answer the door crying and tell us her husband had just passed away, but that he loved Halloween and he wanted to give out candy one more time. Well we were escorted into the parlor and there on sawhorses was a coffin and even though the house was really dark, just a few candles, you could see that there was someone laying in it. She would tell us that the candy was in a bowl on his chest in the coffin to help ourselves, because that would make him happy. Now remember, we are only 9 or 10, and it is really dark, and it seems like there was some spooky music playing. Weeellllllll when we got close and closed our eyes and reached into the bowl, the guy sat up. They must of had a really good screen door, because I know I went through it without bothering to open it. I didn't stop running for a block and then I wasn't in the mood to trick or treat anymore that night. Now days, that would probably be considered child abuse, but back then it was considered fun.........at least for the adults, who could be heard laughing from a block away.
