San Diego is in total rain today as this SD webcam suggests.

We need every drop but the combO of rain and cold
in this otherwise oasis of beautiful temps and weather
is keeping me inside at the computer.
So here I set typing with gloves with holes for the fingers
and a cup of hot tomato soup to warm my gullet.

Stikes at the heart of slow PC computing
This subject is for those that want speed in PC computing:
I listen to Leo Laporte on the radio weekends and some of his pod casts often.
And today seems like the perfect day to evaluate a website he suggested for people
who have issues with slow PC computer systems.
The site is called BlackViper:
This guy evaluates most Windows services and tells you what services you can do without
to speed uP your computer. He dissects the Service pack add ons to weed out the dead wood.
Now isn't this a rainy day project?
For the Geek at heart ... can I get a booyah ~

Anyway I thought I would throw this out to the masses for evaluation, here.
I have already learned something this morning as I have used "msconfig"
in the Run box many times and he shy's away for this tool in favor of typing "services.msc"
in the Run box instead. You get allot more information on the services running and not so apt
to delete a critical service. You might look at this web-page under
"Notes for a Happier Computer and User" for more helpful rainy day reading.
