We have had 1-2" in the last 1 1/2 hours. We have 4-5" on the ground now.

Yep!! We had a pretty good layer by last night. It started as sleet and worked its way to snow. Around 8:00pm we started to get the big, fluffy, beautiful flakes that we used to get in Flagstaff. It's fun once every couple of years.

The Desert Dawg saw it's very first snow.

I was on my way back to this thread to delete my post as to keep things calm. However since there is a response I will leave it up to the admins to trim this thread as needed for the good of all the board. Sorry for the hijack!

We have 4" in the South Sound area. It took me 2 hours to drive 8 miles in rush hour traffic and made two detours because of apparent pile ups. Good thing we have a four wheel drive since my wife is on call tonight (RN). Just think it's still officially Autumn/Fall until Sunday. Can't wait for Summer & camping in the teardrop :relaxing: Danny

I got about 8-10 inches here, got out, shoveled the driveway and took the truck to work. I came home, had to use 4WD to get up the driveway because of the ice and it's fairly steep, and parked on a patch of snow, in what I thought was a relatively flat portion of the driveway up near the garage. This morning, got up, looking at the computer and I couldn't figure out why everyone was driving so slowly past my house. I leaned forward and saw my pickup sitting in the road. It slid 60+ ft. down the driveway and into the road, brake on, in 4WD and in gear, missed the Toyota on the way down....lucked out there. I put some sand on the "glacier" that is now my driveway. I wonder how long it was sitting there? Tonight it's sanded and blocked behind the wheels.... Supposed to get more tonight. Doug

WOW  Doug, never heard of that happening but you do have a slope on that driveway. For those with slipperly driveways these YAKTRAX can save you. I tore my rotator cuff from a fall on the ice in 2006 and wear these outside when needed. :D Danny

Up in the north part of town, we didn't get as much snow as they did at the south end of town. Still, it was a lot of fun to see everything covered in white.

It's been known as the Desert Dawg. It's been known as the Coon Dawg. Now it's the Snow Dawg.

We are sitting on 8-10" at my house now. I just got back from a friends house 3-4 miles away & he has more than 12". It is now in the mid 20's so the snow isn't going away any time soon.

Wow, my yard is green here!!! No snow, no ice but it's supposed to be here in the morning.

BTW Doug, my driveway's flat so it's unlikely my truck can slide out on the road....maybe you should have chained it to a tree!!

I asked a friend in San Diego county how close the snow was.
Julian. And yes, winter is really here. We had a couple days of rain, and the temperature plunged into the 40’s. I’ve had to wear long pants and tennis shoes. One day I wore a light jacket. It’s terrible. Carolyn and I have not been on a bike ride for over two days. We’re suffering.
