A woman can a man Can't!!

Postby Geron » Mon Oct 26, 2009 12:07 pm

When I retired, my wife and I became a "weekend" couple. She's "there" and I'm "here." AND I discovered there are some housekeeping details a Woman CAN do that a man CAN'T!!!!!

1. Fold a fitted sheet! :?
2. Tear off plastic wrap and put it on a bowl w/o it sticking together (four tries minimum!!) :surrender:
3. Put a 48 inch pillow in a 32 inch Sham w/o ripping the sham to shreds! :shhh:
I'm sure there's more haven't thought of or will soon discover.
:baby:

Edited: I do know how to fold a T Shirt, though.

That tee fold is pretty cool. But you need a flat surface which I never seem to have in my laundryroom.

 We don't need no flat surface. Been folding T's in the air for years. ;)

I'm not even going to respond. Liable to upset someone. Oh yes I will. I started doing the house chores when I retired and Tanya was still working. Didn't have any problems. How hard could it be if your taking your time and not in a race.

Only Jesting Gage, Done the household chores for years and most all the cooking. I don't mind it at all. Wife taught school and my hours were very flexible. Worked great. ;) :D  Just being playful.

It's much easier and more fun since retirement though. Lots fewer unexpected interruptions.

Welp, I'm a girl, and I can't fold a fitted sheet to save myself. I can feel your pain on that score. Solution? Remove sheet, wash and dry it immediately, and put it right back on...no folding necessary. I have a back-up in the linen closet, but I won't disturb its factory fold-job until my daily sleeper needs replacing.

You're a wise woman Kelly. I usually try and get away with leaving the fitted sheet in the dryer.... so far it has worked

 This is actually a great solution. Unfortunately I had to learn how to fold them since I have 5 kids (2 still at home). And for the last year I've had this neurotic urge to change my sheets every single day. :?

The trick is to drape all four corners on top of each each over one hand making sure the seams are all facing in. Then you have "kind of" a rectangle to work with.

Im embarrassed to say that I'm so good at this I can fold a queen size in seconds and it looks like it just came out of the factory package.

So I'll fold all of your sheets and you guys can rebuild my trailer. ;)

It's easy. Inside corner into outside corner. Then fold over the excess a little to make it look like a rectangle and then fold like a regular sheet. :?

P.S. Just like Roberta said. ;)

Gee, I found that and posted at the same time you did
Suggestions from a "Friend."

Geron, I have a few suggestions until Brenda gets there. 1) stuff the fitted sheet in the corresponding pillow case along with the regular sheet. 2) Put a plate over the bowl of leftovers and finally 3) to heck with putting pillows in the shams (did you really use the word 'sham'??? - see option 1 and lay your head on the pillow case stuffed with the sheets - ha ha

Here again, they use a flat surface. Like Miriam says. Been folding them in the air for years.

T-Shirts can be folded? I usually just grab one out of the clean clothes basket, there is no dirty clothes basket, because its full of clean clothes, the dirty clothes go on the pile on the floor, until I get the clean clothes put away or until the clean clothes basket is empty at which time it becomes the dirty clothes basket. Can you guess that I am single?
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.
