Is Your Wife/Girl Friend COLD???

Postby halfdome, Danny » Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:19 am

For the past few cold weather months Jane has been complaining she's COLD . We drive in the car and she has the heat so high my eyeballs are drying out and may fall out of my head  . So... for one of my Christmas presents for her was a pair of Dr Scholls Heated Seat Cushions since her car didn't come equipped with them. Of all the presents I've ever given this one keeps getting thank you's, she is so happy and warm . They just plug in and are activated by body weight. I have no connection with the product at all, wish I did. I was surprised how nice they heat your tush and back. :D Danny

Wow, I didn't know they made those! One of the little things I like the best about my current car is the heated seats (or fanny-toasters, as we call them). They will usually warm up before the heat gets warm in the car, so its really nice on cold mornings.

Now, if only they made seat coolers for the summer!

Wow what a thoughtful gift. Yes I think we ladies are always cold for some unknown reason. Its always the same thing when we are out in the car I have the heat on high, he opens the window. Im going to buy those warmers. That may solve the problem.
Thanks for the idea.

Hope to see you on the road.

My wife has been cold for many years. just completed quite alot of tests to check Thyroid and other things that can cause these feelings. Anyway, she got 2 electric blankets for Christmas, 1 for the couch and 1 for the bed. 1 is just the right size for the td if needed.

My son has heated seats in his MINI Cooper. I was riding with him when it was really hot out and I couldn't understand why it was so hot inside when the air was on. I finally realized he was laughing and he had turned the heat on my seat. (car seat that is but it heated both. That is what you call hot cross buns, I was very cross.)

The proper term!

Postby eamarquardt » Wed Dec 30, 2009 9:39 pm

I think the "proper" term for some women is "frigid". I'm not sure there is any known "cure".

My wife, of 35 plus years (yes there are some who feel she has earned "sainthood"), does have heated seats in her car. I carry a blanket for her in my van but a 12 volt heating pad makes sense.

Cheers,

Gus

I have had a few press cars with vented seats that cool your buns in the summer. Oh, that is nice. Here in Texas, having a fan cool you from the seat is soooo nice.

Wonder how hard it'd be to retrofit to a car that didn't come with them

My subaru has seat heaters from the factory :)

I usually like to be cooler because I'm the driver, though. Being cooler helps me stay alert while being warm makes me drowsy. I always take off my sweater or jacket before drive long distances (at night) so that my wife can be warm and I can be cool!
