At 10 am this morning, about 2 kilometers from us tradgedy strikes with 5 dead due to shooting spree in one of the shopping malls here.

Not much feeling left now for a New Years Celebration this evening.

Police are still searching for shooter. And they are out in full force at the moment even in our neighborhood. He is armed and very dangerous.

So no relief until he is found. My family is in the house and safe thank god.

Police just announced on television and radio that people living in our vacinity and neighboring city to stay alert and inside. :shock:

Tilt, so very, very sorry for the victims families and your community. These types of occurrences are happening more and more all over the world.. Some people are born wicked and mean, others just can't cope any longer & their rubber bands break. (go mental or off the beam). Again, there is just sorrow in my heart for you all. Just saw something about this on TV and they said that the shooter's ex wife was found dead in an apartment close to the mall (she worked there) and another body that they believe is the shooter.

According to news on right now the shooter is still at large. It was his ex girlfriend that was found dead in the apartment.

Ok the police say that they suspect that the shooter is now dead.

So that is a total of 6 people dead so far. Police say that there are maybe more but cant say at this time.

Confirmed report to Yle Newsroom by Police is that the shooter is to have shot himself.

Ibrahim Shkupolli - Is the name of the shooter. Who was born 1966 in Kosovo. Came to Finland from Norway in 1990. Has been convicted of various crimes throughout the years.

Yes Kerry we are glad its over especially when we just heard the shooter is now gone as well.
However, we sure feel saddened especially for the victims and their families.
It just makes us wonder as to what has happened in our society and country we strongly have loved for nonviolence when there was a time we could honestly say it was peaceful here and so on. Im not exactly feeling too proud at the moment of this incident and the reputation it gives the world throught the media.

He was convicted of having an illegal firearm few years back as well. Also he had a restraining order in force also.

Now again the government talks of what should be done and what should of been done. :thinking:

The Officials here are simply idiots.

Also another thing now is with the borders opening up via the EU, Crime has gone up considerably. I wont get into this even though many of you know how I feel about it all.

Well the mayor and city officials have just cancelled all New Years Concerts, Fireworks and Celebrations due to the tradgedy in the city of Espoo. :cry:

Im willing to bet our flags fly half staff shortly..
