Phil Mickelson wins Masters for mom and wife...

Phil Mickelson's wife and mother are both undergoing treatment for cancer. How could he possibly be expected to do well under those circumstances.

But, sometimes adversity makes a person go above and beyond.

His mom and wife were both there to see him win, beating the record set by Tiger (news whore, Woods) with a 16 under 272 score.

It's nice to hear a good story from time-to-time when we are overrun by a news media that just wants to run stories of failure -- something that seems to garner better ratings.

I hope Phil's wife and mother get a good boost out of this. As a cancer survivor who met some really nice women with worse cancers than mine while in treatment, I know they need all the lifts they can get.
