Just want to thank you folks in the Northeast for sending our triple-digit weather back to us. Two weeks of moderate temperatures and better than average rainfall were getting boring.

That, and it made my yard work entirely too easy. Not to mention turning my plants a funny color -- green.

Today's 102 degrees is WAY better.

Sorry CD.. Didn't want you to think the climate was changing or anything. It's supposed to stay pretty toasty around here for a while too. Not too bad though... only in the mid 90's or so. The good thing about is that the grass isn't growing as fast since it's been so dry. Got a good soaker for a rain storm yesterday but it didn't do anything to break the humidity & warmth. Ain't complaining though...It sure beats the rainy crappy summer we had in the Northeast last year.

For the first time in weeks it has cooled down a little, I opened up the house and turned off the AC. I had forgotten how loud the sounds of nature are, and can actually here a train even though the tracks are over a mile away. It will be nice sleeping with the windows open. Hope you get a little cool both your ways too.

25% humidity (and below) is not a pre-requisite for any sort of heat comparison when the humidity level is above 50%, especially when its 70+% and over 95 degrees!

Oh I have been in Houston, TX in July but when you can't touch anything left outside because you can burn yourself it is too hot. It rained in certain parts around town today when we where at 113 and humidity was way up. Poor soldiers in the United Arab Emerites where it gets up past the 120's.

I've been in high humidity/100* temps where they use that d@#ned heat index and it sux. Also spent lots of time in PHX and Vegas when its 110*+. At some point it no longer matters, it's just bloody HOT


I was told the other day that the main difference in low humidity is that instead of melting you just burst into flames....

I saw parts of Nevada is at 118 temp. I put a thermometer in my car and it showed 145 degrees inside when I left work at 1:00 p.m. It takes almost my whole drive home to cool the car with the AC on.

I just checked the weather at my folks' place out in far west Texas desert and they'll be in the 100s today but their lows are in the 60s at night.

Looks like you guys are lucky to get below 90 at night!

I've never minded the heat during the day too much if I could lay low during the hottest part of the day, and then get out in the evenings when it cools off...but it looks like it doesn't cool down to a decent temp for you guys at all!

I enjoyed the snow. We don't see it very often.

Houston is generally ten degrees warmer in winter, and five degrees cooler in summer, compared to Dallas. The Gulf of Mexico moderates temperatures down there. But, the humidity can make it miserable even in the 80s.
