Stupid criminals

I really need to vent, in the last two months I have had the tags stolen off my utility trailer twice, and just last night somebody slashed the window in my Jeep. They took everything out of the console and glove box, including a GPS navigator and a hand help GPS unit, and left them on the seat. They tried to get the stereo, but couldn't figure out how to get it out, and left the knife they cut the window with on my seat as well.

They got away with nothing (I believe the dogs barking at 4:00 AM account for that), and lost a nice survival knife, which the police where more than happy to take for prints.

For those of you who remember my blip about "Pig Fart Arkansas" (pop 1853) a few days ago, this did not happen where I live, but about 40 miles away, in the town I work in, and where my girl friend lives, still only 8,000 people though.

Sorry to hear about all the problems you are having. Is your neighborhood normally safe or is this a normal occurence? I think I'd set up motion detector lights. There is also an alarm you can get from Harbor Freight that is also a motion detector but it alarms/chimes in your home when someone approaches your vehicles. Worth a try....good luck.

Motion sensor camera is a good idea. Harbor freight also has a motion sensor light that might get their attention. You can set it in the jeep........I use one when camping so I don't step out in the dark. Really sensitive and battery powered.

Ya, but the plates were stolen in a parking lot in Memphis once at Lowe's, and the second time at Bass Pro Shop and the GF rents, so I can't set up a cam at her place. She lives in a not so nice part of town. When I'm at home, I leave the Jeep unlocked and have had no problems in 5 years. I like the battery powered light, but would it really work since the dome light comes on when you open the door? Or worse yet, after the sliced the window...

That's funny Sharon!!

Miriam, the driveway monitoring system is what I was talking about. I like that one that you are showing. I think that's a good idea to use on the outside of my camper door.

Combo- battery powered light, motion alarm in house, 12 ga. out window- pull trigger.

Thieving slime don't deserve any better. Since the lifeguards at the gene pool were on duty, we have to get rid of them one at a time.

Good luck.

I am to the point where I don't leave anything of value in the Jeep and leave the doors unlocked. I would rather them take a $150 radio than destroy a $1400 top. That of course assumes they actually will check to see if the doors are unlocked before they slash the top.
