The dog is a finalist! FINAL DAY TO VOTE!!!

Postby caseydog » Tue Feb 01, 2011 9:23 pm

As many of you already know, I am a BBQ fanatic. Cooking BBQ is one of my few hobbies. I was one of thousands of people to enter a contest to attend Kingsford University 2011 in Las Vegas, for free.

Kingsford Charcoal has selected me as one of ten finalists and need your votes to attend Kingsford University, Las Vegas campus where I’ll learn the latest tailgating tips and grilling techniques from world champion pitmaster Chris Lilly.

Just visit http://bit.ly/h0NwSA and cast your vote for me once, or as much as once a day, each day until February 14, 2011.

Thanks!

EDIT: I am Glenn from Frisco, TX. on the ballot.

CD, I'd be glad to vote for you. Unfortunately I don't do facebook and the link you posted requires signing in to facebook. :o

Thanks, Kevin. I wish voting wasn't limited to Facebook members, but I don't set the rules. Like the saying goes, it is what it is.

Is the fellow from Tyler, Texas your brother?

In Southern California's Beautiful San Fernando Valley

(borrowed from Ghostbusters: Peter Venkman: You know, I have met some dumb blondes in my life, but you take the taco, pal! Only a *Carpathian* would come back to life now and choose New York! Tasty pick, bonehead! If you had brain one in that huge melon on top of your neck, you would be living the sweet life out in Southern California's beautiful San Fernando Valley!)

there is a pretty good BBQ place touting its roots in Tyler, Texas!!!!!!!

http://hoglywogly.com/

It's pretty good and they slow BBQ with real oak!

I also posted a message encouraging my "friends" to vote for you and included the link. This could really snowball. I made the site a "favorite" in my browser to make it easy. Count my votes in (although I'm not entirely sure if I'm voting for Glenn or my brother's dog named Casey)

Cheers,

Gus

BBQ versus Grill

Postby eamarquardt » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:50 pm

By the way, the BBQ folks distinguish themselves from "grillers" (those that grill on a BBQ). BBQ is slow smoky cooking, grilling much faster over a hot bed of coals.

Just to be pendantic.

Cheers,

Gus

Thanks Mandy. As they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often. You can actually legally vote once a day in this contest. Go figure, Kingsford must be a Chicago company.

OK Glenn, I put my vote in. I use lump, but when I do use briquettes, I prefer Kingsford.

Good luck!

Well Glenn, I also don't do Facebook, but My wife does. I'll see if I can sweet talk her into putting in some votes for you. ;)
