Colombus GA

So family day weekend at Fort Benning is June 18 and 19th. We have time for one can't miss have to eat there eating experience for dinner. Our soldier in training can't leave the Colombus area. Don't care about price, low or higher. Just good regional food and atmosphere where they won't laugh at us Minnesotans. And a safe part of town too.
For lunch both days he wants Subway and ice cream for dessert so we are all set there.

Karen I suggest some good old Southern BBQ, several places that I can give some info to tomorrow. If you haven't gotten a hotel room, I would go ahead and book it. The Hampton Inn on the Airport thruway is where I stay every week and its nice and reasonable.

Remember tea is sweet by default so keep that in mind.

If you have an opportunity, you can visit FDR state Park. It's on US 27 which runs parallel to I-185. It's also a hop, skip, and a jump to Warm Springs.

Yep and consensus was from my friends who live down in Columbus to recommend Country's BBQ off of exit 6. FDR state park is very cool!!

Thank you cliff, it has been added to our itinerary. We will probably have time to check out a state park as we are getting in a day earlier than we need to, in case we have problems on the road. Do not want to risk one minute of time with Patrick.

So excited :dancing:
