To quote from a Carly Simmon song. Yes indeedy I survived the 5.8 Earthquake of 2011. I never experienced a earthquake before and as I sat at my desk - staring at my square hedaded girlfriend - I thought a big - really big truck was rumbling by the office. Ain't so - the windows started to shake and the ceiling tiles started to vibrate. Was not a great thing to experience. This shaking must have lasted for 30sec! Got outside and they came around to tell us that the building was unsafe and that we could go home.

Got my wallet and keys and off we went.

Now we wait to be hit by hurricane Irene this weekend - they (the evil ones) tell us that it will be a level 3 by the time it hits the Potomac on Saturday/Sunday. Great!
