Saab gathering

Postby Shadow Catcher » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:28 pm

Just posted to the V Saab email group (vintage with the Saab V4 engine) one of which is towing a teardrop that looks familiar. I have a 72 Saab Sonett I am restoring hence the interest.

Yep, he's a member here. Sorry, can't think of his name right now. I saw the teardrop at the IRG. Real nice.

RE: SAABs

Hi Shadow Catcher,

Thanks for posting the link. Nice pics for SAAB fans. I remember the
two cycles "ring-a-ding-dinging" around in the late 50s & early 60s. A
Great Uncle had a white V4 in the 60s when they came out. It'd be nice
to get a V4 wagon one of these days.

We had a 1987 2DR HB 900 which was a fabulous vehicle - one of those
"wish we still had it" deals. We also had a 1996 9000 4DR which was a
good car too. We had to move on to other makes as the repair costs
became ridiculous and we decided they priced themselves too far upscale
for our 'value meter'. Unfortunately they're not idiosyncratic enough now
either. Amazingly our 2007 VW Rabbit 4DR feels just as substantial as the
9000 SAAB did. Both are heavy for their size though.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo
