Are you ready for some FOOTBAALLLLLL!!!!!!!

Postby WarPony » Thu Aug 18, 2005 9:24 pm

I am really excited for the begining of football season!! The preseason games really get me jacked up in anticipation for the regular season to start. The college season also starts up soon, too. I've hated baseball ever since the MLB struck and ruined the World Series. Anyway, what team(s) do you pull for?
I am a:

Oklahoma Sooner til I die

and a KC Chiefs fan, big time!! :worship:

Nebraska Cornhusker Fan

Postby Bigwoods » Thu Aug 18, 2005 11:42 pm

With all this Sooner shouting I got vote for the Cornhuskers. Been down lately, but watch out Sooners were coming!!!

Of course in Division II I have to pull for the local University of North Dakta. We are usually in the fight for Division I hockey championship and last year we were in the Championship game in football..Divsion II.

They may make us cover up out logo this year, but we are proud of our 75 year tradition. BTW our old nickname was the Flickertails. Kinda thinkin' we won't go back to that.

Notre Dame fan my whole life (it's an Irish Catholic from northern Indiana thing). I can remember sitting with my grandfather and watching games on an old black-n-white TV with the green looking round screen tube. My wife and I watch "RUDY" about every other month. Still get choked up at several points in the movie.

Also been a Steeler's fan for a long, long time. My first wife's father sold steel for Youngstown Sheet & Tube and later for US Steel. The company had a box at Three Rivers and I went to several games in the early 70's. Great years but I've remained a loyal fan through the lean years too.
Reality? What a concept!

What's Football? Is that the game you run around kicking/passing the ball for 90 min, and end up tied 0-0? Seriously I'm ready for some HOCKEY.......I have season tickets to our local Junior A club, and cheer for the Canadiens in the NHL (that's Montreal for all you non hockey; football fans)

Pro would be the Steelers even when they are bad they are usually fun to watch.

College has always been Pitt and Penn State

What's hockey? Oh, you mean that boxing with sticks sport. I remember now.

Oh, you must be talking about pointy ball

The REAL FOOTBALL Season, the one with the round ball you move with your feet, has been going for a week. English Premiere League Foot started last Saturday and Chelsea was just plain lucky to get past Wigan. :applause:

I'm sure Andrew will back me up on this. :drofl:
