I came to a pm from outlook express. it asked me a question about mozilla, which I rushed through, and now i think it has set up a new default for me.... all my favorites have disappeared, all banner ads are back and I'm in trouble.

Does anyone know enough about mozilla to have a clue what I might have done, and if I can get back to ground zero with all this?

Arne,

A screen shot of your problem might help us figure out what is going on...

Oh, but I wish I could provide one. I am using mozilla, and think I created an alternate profile and made it the default.

When I was reading an email in outlook express, i got a message about a pm from this site. So, I clicked on the url which usually takes me here to read the message, but a box popped up and I clicked on it, and i think it created another id with (default) next to it. ...... there was no real name, just 'profile' I think, but one had the default word next to it...... So, I had to log on here to read the message...... did not dawn on me I had a problem till I came onto mozilla, my browser, and all my favorites are gone.

I think the other one is out there, but can't find anything in mozilla firefox that leads me to profiles...... and that is why i posted the question.

I'm a Firefox user and was looking all over for multi-users settings to no avail. I was about to ask you about other users on your computer, thinking that something happened to your user settings. Out of curiosity, what was the fix to your problem?

I had to do a file/exit on m/z.... then go to run, etc.....

www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new

There is a great mozilla forum out there which i found by doing a search on those 2 words...... I hope the link above gets you there, if not, let me know....

anyway, 2 profiles showed up, and i deleted 'profile user' which made my old profile the default and it was all set........ but, I never would have found it on my own.... the forum is very good... lots of knowledge out there, just like here....
