I Didn't Mean To, But I Velcroed a Dog!

I'm dogsitting a Mini-Schnauzer. Now, my dog is a Lab. He is big and you can see him in the back of the pickup cab. I had to go to town today. Town is 50 some miles. I took the little dog along because she seems to be nervous when left at my house, even with the big dog for company. I stopped at a tire place to go buy chains for my pickup. I came back out, she was in the front seat, so I put her coat on her as I would be stopping again for longer times. Then I put her behind the seat again.

I did my shopping. I thought it odd that she didn't hop in the front again, but I didn't think too long about it. I loaded up the pickup with groceries and headed home. I got home, opened the door to let her out. She didn't move. I picked her up and there was the riiiiip noise of velcro. Her coat velcro had stuck to the carpet like fabric on the back of the seat. She seemed to be oblivious and even jumped back into the pickup. Oh well. All is fine.

I do need to say that she is a really well mannered dog. Her people have had Labs in the past, and have treated her like a big dog.

I will have to give that idea to my daughter. Her 8-month-old boxer/pit bull mix is HUGE but thinks he's a lap dog. Maybe we can velcro him to the van floor, and keep him from trying to climb into the already-occupied front seat!
