After reading over a bunch of threads and talking to some of the locals, I sure seems like there are a lot of folks either just having surgery,, fixing to have it or avoiding the knife but getting closer,,

I am in the first bunch,, and looks like I am on the bench for a few weeks,,I tore the maniscus cartledge in my left knee,, had the clip job on the knee yesterday(tuesday) and now just enjoying a few days off with my foot proped up,,

everybody better get their old wore out selves in shape and get patched up for next year,, I sure would hate to get a new trailer built and have to go camping by myself,, but dagnabbit I will,, every body get well and stay healthy,, happily medicated in the southeast,,,,

What the heck is a maniscus cartledge? And what were you doing at the time?

Hope you're feeling VERY well-medicated, and I hope it's a funny story.

Chip,

Sorry to hear about your injury. I did that back in 1976, and ended up chipping the bone pretty bad. Had to have surgery in 1980 and that cleared up my problems. Just hope you don't have to go to that extreme.

Guess these are hard times for lots of us "old timers". I slipped on a just-mopped hotel tile floor two weeks ago and banged up my hip pretty bad, and then exactly a week later broke my big toe. :O We sure do heal slower when we get older, huh?

Heal quickly and get back to work.............or the Crown and Pickle Juice. :tipsy:

Chip,

Hope your surgery is a success and you recover soon.

Know what you mean about the old age thing...it's not for sissies. I have to stay almost high on anti-inflamatory drugs to stand the back pain anymore...old age, compressed discs and arthritus. Now, where is that jar of ibuprofen?

Talk about old, I was recently in the hospital for a week with pancreatitis. Now if that doesn't sound like an old timers malady. The hospital had internet access in the room and the nurse came in and caught me browsing through the Hall of Fame. She had all kinds of questions about teardrops. Maybe another convert!

My dad always says, "The hospital is no place to rest."

Yeah, Gail, I am dreading the approach of old age. I am only 66, but old age probably isn't more than 20 or 25 years away.

Wow, that's an impressive set of metal you've got in there! Quite a break from the looks of it. An Orthopods dream of heaven, I'd imagine.

What kind of dog were you walking?

Hey--that's exactly the size and configuration of steel I need to mount my porch lamps.

I'll give you 20 bucks for that leg. 30 for the two.

My Rohdesian Ridgeback and I were walking in the mountains down a steep hill she pulled to my left, squirrel, and I spun and fell landing full weight on my wrist. The doctor was reeeeaaaallllly into my injury in kind of a freaky way. I think he saw at a BIG challenge. thats the doctor you want. He took pictures during the surgery with my camera. very gross. and the titanium is way to expensive to use for lamp brackets (total operation, anesthesia rehab etc. $40K).

Hey Chip,

I hope you're feeling better soon. I know you must be in pain... I can relate, being in pain myself right now... The only thing I can say is don't get addicted to Vicodin. A work associate used that for 6 months and when he took himself off of it, he had major withdrawal! :o
