Cool toasters

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I had found a couple of them at Goodwill for between 4 and 6 bucks. I found them a bit small for two campers ( unless you want to eat in shifts ). I later gave them away to some of my fellow campers. They worked great and were a great spacesaver and would be fantastic for single camping.

I have the red VW bus toaster. It was a promotion gimmick in Japan. Handed out to buyers. I bought it off the Internet. The push down knob doesn't hold, but it's not like I can send it back. I just hold the knob til the bread is toasted and the VW emblem is set.

My favorite toaster is a sixties vintage Tastmaster that automatically lowers the bread using a motor when you drop the slice in, then when done raises the toast back up using the motor. No toast launched to the moon. It was given to my parents as a wedding gift, and now I have it. It still works fine after 50 years.

My mom's parents bought my parents one for their wedding, too, then got one for themselves as well. My step-mom still has the one my parents got, but my little brother (yeah, at 48 he is still my little bro) found another one for Mom and Step-dad. The didn't use it, so now it is at my house. Love that thing, but the "up" springs are a bit weak at this point.

Ahh, the breakfast of (former) champions...
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
