can't wait to see if they make the tow rating high enough to tow my TD with it, I think the green or orange (where's yellow?) would look good on me.

Ooh, I want one. It looks like what the Corbin Sparrow should have been.

Skip the waiting list and find an old one.

very interesting concept

Safety

Each Elio comes equipped with a Safety Management System that includes three airbags – a reinforced roll-cage frame, Anti-Lock Braking System, and 50% larger crush zones than similar vehicles. Preliminary safety tests on computer models anticipate a 5-Star safety rating.

It seems as though all they're doing right now is collecting "other people's money". Very few FACTS on their site.

Caveat emptor!

Cheers,

Gus

I like the true blue color. If it actually does come out. I might even consider buying one. But I won't make a reservation though.

you guys all act like a $1,000 dollar outlay is a big deal or something!
I'm following their FB page, if this turns out to be real I'll have one, of course getting them built for the price point they state will be a hurdle.
the big advantage of a three wheel car being it is exempt from most emissions testing, and ALL crash standards. Emissions and crash ratings being the two biggest hurdles to selling a car in North America. The one downside I see is having to wear a helmet in states with a helmet law for motorcycles, I also want to read a real car magazine review after they get to throw one around on a track.

Not sending money....but it looks pretty slick. Ill look again once they are actually selling them.

Prospect looks too much to good. Price is VERY low. When it looks to good to be true....

Good thing they're planning on making the "creamsickle" colour then :)

OK, just for the record $1000 is a lot for some people, as a matter of fact for some it is like talking about a million dollars. I might manage $10. but that will be difficult right now with this extra cold weather I seem to need a tank of propane gas and that is $220 I don' t have right now. The car is cute and if I got one it would have to be on payments. I know some of the people here on the forum haven't seen the bad times and that is very good, but some of us live on a meager amounts of money and have been hit really hard with the economy. I think comments about what a person has or doesn't shows immaturity , smugness and insensitivity and remember Karma, it can happen to you. I am glad I have what I have but I can't afford any new car. Slow, it is a cute car I will take mine in the hot blue. I wonder if it will pull a little foamie? Slow we could pair them up and build a plastic and aluminum frame and build a foamie . very light weight. but for now I will just dream about it.

It does say that you can reserve for a hundred . While you would not be first, you would be before the general public. I remember when the Smart car was in the works you could reserve also. They let you "build" your car and if you did not like it when you saw it you did not have to take it.

But as so any things in this country, people are impatient. So the first ones that have these will be able to sell them at a premium to those that can not wait. Considering the Can Am 3 wheel motor cycle cost 3 times what this thing is expected to cost I doubt if this thing gets made it will be anywhere near the price they say now. The deposit is their way of judging interest and collecting some seed money. I will watch the site for updates.

This kind of thing has been being bounced around several of the Kitcar forums I am on.

One guy in italy even started to build something very similar but his financier pulled out when things got tight.

There is even a kit available now that takes a suzuki burgman and gets 74 MPG even when being hammered. Unfortunately dosent have fully enclosed body.
Boys never grow in to men the toys just get more expensive and more dangerous

How true :)
