No worries.
A little drywall ding is worth the price to have a garage to keep it in.
Besides, you just gained 3" of extra space you didn't know you had. ;)

Better then poking a hole in the teardrop, which many people have done to their RV's.

Hey, I know, when married, using a brand new travel trailer which had not even been slept in yet, setting up at dusk, didn't notice the large oak tree dead branch, which put a very long open rip into the travel trailer. Covered up with plastic and duct tape. Amazing the stories from fellow campers of how and where holes have appeared in RV's.

One friend cranked up his pop up in the garage while the garage door was open. Just about fully cranked up, noticed a bit of resistance, so put more muscle into the crank.
When he entered the pop up found a piece of the garage door poking in thru the pop up roof.

Dont feel too bad. I had my house rebuilt from the 2x4's up. 3 months after moving back in. I had a ammo reloader on a rolling work bench. I forgot to put the handle in the upright and locked position. and when I pushed it back up to the wall, I couldn't figure out why the bench would not sit flush against the wall. A couple of days later, my daughter said something was sticking through the wall in her bedroom. yep, It was the dang handle......

Look on the bright side better ball than the rear bumper that stopped at the wall!! Ask my mother she stopped after a foot of the trunk was outside the garage wall. She looked at me and said "Don't say a word!!". Then walked into the house and grabbed a glass of wine and cried.

I backed into my closed garage door once. Took me two days of hammering and reinforcing to beat it back in shape. It still has that custom hammered look, but I have it trained to go up real fast when I turn the ignition key.

At a neighbors party a week later I told the story and at the end, they all shook their heads and said they were wondering what made me so mad I beat on my garage door for two days! :R

Not the prettiest repair, but it'll look better with some paint
