Thanks for the link Chris... Anyone out there using the Honda 3000?
I just returned from the "land of generators" and many folk down there told me that the 3000 is a much better way to go.

Honda 3000=$$$ I think Home Depot is selling Honda generators now. I'd rather have a Honda 2000 though, an S2000

I just called Wise Sales and the lady told me $869, shipping included. She did ask me where I lived before giving me the price. Apparently shipping is "sort of" included and varies depending on where you live. Either way it's still a good price since the MSRP is $1079.95

Hey Guys, I just received my Amazon Tool Catalog and check this out:

http://tinyurl.com/aldbe

It has a noise output of 59 db! That's the same as the Honda, isn't it? Anyone familiar with the longevity of the Makita generator? I know Honda engines last forever, from experience.

Chris..no experience with it...it probably will stand up to Makita's reputation....however at 1100watts max output(probable) it won't run much more than a battery charger...a hair dryer, coffee pot and most any space heater will draw more juice than 1100watts...but 50db puts in the same noise category as the Hondas.

Madjack, isn't the Honda a 1000 watt? Besides, all I want is something to recharge my battery while I'm away from A/C. I don't plan on using any A/C appliances in or with my teardrop............except for a charger when I'm in a "sissyfied" campsite.

Chris,
The Honda1000 is 1000watts, but hey... I got an almost new Coleman 1500 I'll sell you real cheap. It's just a wee bit louder than the Hondas.
OK... It's pretty darned loud, but it sounds real neat when you shut it off... Like a jake brake on a logging truck.
It would work great for camping... If you like to camp alone.

Seriously... I'm going to look at the Honda3000, my buddy says he can easily lift it into the bed of his pickup.

EDITED:Whoops... Make that a Coleman 1850.
Hey Chris,
I'll bet I really had you confoozed.

I've already got a Coleman 5000 (I think that's the model) and even with two mufflers on it I can't hear myself think. I really like the thought of a 59 db generator. I've heard them before and they are a real blessing. I just noticed the Honda 2000 is also rated at 59 db. Does anyone know what they cost?

Before you all get excited about the Honda you might check into these two. They are just as good and a couple of hundred cheaper.
