Something as cropped up a lot today. People are calling thanksgiving Turkey Day.

Why?

George,

Just my opinion, but I think it comes back to a general lack of a personal sense of honor, tradition, and pride. Which comes from the modern teachings that the above noted traits are not politically correct.

If a person doesn't have self-pride, why would s/he show respect for the things that others have pride/respect for?

ps. it's sort of sad to hear a "young person" say that...

Perhaps it is a non-secular way of showing solidarity with the fellow man.

I would suspect there are more turkeys eaten than prayers said over turkeys eaten on this day.

Either way it is still a holiday in honor of the fall harvest, a celebration started in Americas early days by people whom were very devout in their religion for the most part.

So George, I'm thankful I can wish you a Happy Turkey Day!!!

Hi

Its one of those "politically correct" things again, I really thought thanksgiving could bypass that, after all if there is one thing that all of mankind can be grateful for its a good harvest, regardless of any religous beliefs (or even lack of) we should all be thankful for that.
