March 2, 2005. The day before my cataract surgery, and the last day I worked on my tear.

But, the cold weather is on us, and it's time to get back to the basement.

I'd give numbers, cigarette-wise, as you did, but I'm strictly a Mac guy.

Been so long, I don't remember exactly. I think is was 18 or 19 years ago! Never regretted it and will never forget it (except the date) because the wife and I both quit. This saved us about $125.00 per month and our landlord simutaneously raise our rent $120.00 per month. So, we had an extra $5.00 a month to waste on something else!

Congratulations on quitting and staying quit! Been there. Done that. Got my health.

I quit cold turkey 20 years ago. At the time, I was was 24 years old and up to 2 1/2 packs a day. It was one of the hardest things I ever did.

Smoking is one thing I'm glad I never picked up. Smoked some hootch a few times but it hurt my chest the next day and I thought, "How do people smoke everyday?".

Ah, well. The other crap I'm exposed to will probably get me. Especially painting on Helmsman Spar on the inside of my TTT with no ventilation :SH !! Man, sniffing too much of that will make your babies come out naked!!

Unfortunatly I have quit quitting. One day maybe, but I just don't see it anytime soon. Some people say that it would be detramental to those around me if I did quit. :x Just my opinion everyone knows about those.
However, I will say good for those who have kicked the habit. Probably would have been better if I hadn't started at age 14, now being 31.

Steven, I started when I was 12 years old, and smoked until I was 31. I was up to 3 packs a day when I quit back in '76. It was really tough, for about a month. Then that was it. I've never regretted quiting, and I know I'll live a lot longer for it. And if nothing else, at least no-one has to kick me in the chest to get my breathing started in the morning. Try it, you'll like it.

One day, One day. For me it about 1-1 1/2 pack a day depending whether we are working inside or out. Once a house we are building gets so far along all indoor smoking stops. For respect of the home owners. With them shelling out between 1 and 3 mill one can't blame them.

Have you guys heard about when Rodney Dangerfield quit smoking? Him and his wife decide to only smoke after sex. He's on the same pack for 3 months and she's up to 2 packs a day.

Seriously though, I quit three times before it finally took. The first two times I made a big deal out of it. Patches and gum and all that junk. The last time I just got fed up and threw them in the trash. Cold turkey. I couldn't tell you the date, probably 15 years ago give or take. Smartest thing I ever did.
