Working people V. Retired People

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Working people V. Retired People

Postby Guy » Thu Dec 01, 2005 3:49 pm

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to
make their days interesting.
Well for example, the other day I went to Main Street and
went to a shop on the corner of 2nd Street.
I was only in there for about 5 minutes. When I came out there
was a nice policeman writing out a parking ticket. I went up to him and said,
"Come on buddy, how about giving a senior citizen a break?"
He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.
I called him a Nazi . He glared at me and started writing
another ticket for having worn tires.
So I called him a piece of stinking dog sh**. He finished the
second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then
he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20
minutes.
The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote. He was afraid to arrest an old man.
Personally, I didn't give a sh**, don't drive, own a car, and always travel by bus.
I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's
important at my age.

What do I do now that I'm retired? Well, I had planned to do a lot of fishing, but since I retired May 1 this year, I think my boat has been in the water once. I am just too darned busy to do any fishing. I had planned on it one day this week, but I found something else I needed to do, and now it's raining. That's funny...I can't work outside, and I can 't fish, so I'm BORED. I keep thinking of that empty concrete slab and the pile of lumber outside just waiting on me to put it all together.
:(

Maybe, after my shed and my TTT are built, I MIGHT have some leisure time. But, my wife wants new windows put in the house and the kitchen cabinets refinished, and by the time that's all done, she will probably want the walls painted another color inside and the roof will probably need new shingles, so who knows. I may never have time to fish. But, I WILL make time for some camping.
 :applause: :D

I have to admit though, I can't stand being idle. Some people can just sit around and loaf, or nap, but I can't do either...I'd go nutz. :?
Dale

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.

I had a retired friend who always carried a yoyo around with him,,, I guess it was something to do if he was bored,, while on the pier at the beach he was yoyo'ing and a tourist ask him if he didnt have anything better to do, After a moment to reflect he looked the guy in the eye and calmly remarked nope I sure dont ,,, and if I dont want to I dont have to do this,,,
