Movies with trailers.....

Postby subtearanean » Wed Jan 25, 2006 9:07 pm

I'm sitting here watching "Kitchen Stories"........

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0323872/

It's got a bunch of canned hams. Quite a bit of fun, too.

Do we want a thread about trailers in movies? Now, not movie trailers, but trailers about movies. I mean trailers in movies. I mean.....oh, never mind.

What was the Lucille Ball one with the rocks?

there was one back in the 80s I think... Albert Brooks sells everything and him and the wife head off in an RV ... not sure that it was very good movie though... I just remember that part of it.

What about good movies to watch while relaxing in the teardrop? haha

Lost in America - 1985. He and Julie Haggarty do the Winnebago thing.

I can't remember any other movies that directly involve trailers as a primary prop. There are some that follow the 'quit everything and travel' theme, such as Captain Ron and Easy Rider. There are others that follow the 'quit your boring life and find the greener grass', such as Cocoon and The Last Starfighter.

Motorcycles, boats, alien spaceships, but no trailers. :)

I recently heard about a movie in production called "RV". I think it is a comedy about someone driving a large motorhome cross country. I think they want it out for the summer movie season.

Movie trailer here >> http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/XJ&sdn=movies&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fsonypictures.com%2Fmovies%2Frv%2Fvideo%2Frv_trailer_hi.asx

In Columbia Pictures' family adventure-comedy RV, scheduled to be released on April 28th, an overworked executive, Bob Munro (Robin Williams), persuades his wife and children to give up their Hawaiian vacation for some "family bonding" on a cross-country RV trip. But it's all a ruse. Bob has other, more career-oriented reasons on his mind than spending quality time with his family in the Rocky Mountains. Through a series of misadventures, including constant run-ins with an overly friendly troupe of full-time RV'ers, Bob inadvertently learns the true meaning of family.

Yep, that one's a "have to see". I've had it on my list since I first heard of it.

Kurt--

That's the one. I've always been a fan of Robin Williams and will likely actually go to the theaters to see this one. Thanks for finding the info.

That looks really funny. I love the paint job on the RV, so inconspicuous; you'd never know it was a rental. Is that Jeff Daniels? He is a great actor. I loved his performance in Gettysburg.

I've gotta watch that one, it has a Flxible Clipper in it (the red & white bus in the preview). I have a 47 Clipper that I am going to convert some day, but with fuel costs what they are right now, the tear will do just fine!

The Long Long Trailer is a classic. I think it was Lucy & Ricky's first movie. It has a lot of nice old trailers in it, although most of them are larger trailers. We bought a copy of it after we bought a 1950 Zypher TT a few years ago. Theres a couple of shots of one in the movie. Unfortunatly the Zypher was a little too rotten for me to repair it without a total teardown, and at that thine, I didn't think I could tackle such a big job.

"A Perfect world"

"Stripes"

I also saw the "RV" movie trailer. I may have to see it when it comes out.
