Thanks for sharing that one Dave...........

Yeah it's funny, but it is so close to being real... Be ever vigilant my friends. We already have one guy that thinks he has the right to know everything about you without judicial approval.... That's what this is talkin about.

Sid, I think I sensed SOME sarcasm in Jack's post there.

I trust you Madjack. But, the politicians and government spooks... Well that's a different story.

Our government has a long sorid history of abuse when it comes to domestic spying. For example, the FBI under conducted extensive wiretaps on Martin Luther King and his associates. The wire tapping revealed that King had been cheating on his wife. The FBI sent him a letter threating to expose his infidelities if he did not commit suicide.

Historians speculate, that J. Edgar Hover, went after King for publically critising the FBI's handling of hate crime investigations in the South.

Dear Tom,

J. Edgar Hoover went after MLK because Rev. King would not marry J. Edgar and his gay lover.

I believe the lover was Clyde Tolson, who was the #2 man at the FBI.

It's amazing what an arrogant hypocrite that guy was. One of the reasons he stayed in office so long was because nobody dared go after him. Anyone who tried would be investigated and thier dirty laundry aired in public.

What never really came out about Hoover, and maybe it did but I just never read it, was the TRUE story about him and the organized crime of the time.

The FBI was incredibly effective in bringing a lot of guys to justice, but knowing the REST of this guy's history, I don't know if we ever got the full story on this. Or just the whitewash.

The guy was paranoid and morally bankrupt, to the point of real evil, and a leopard just doesn't change his spots that easily.

SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU OPPOSE GAY MARRIAGE?

(A JOKE, guys. A JOKE!)

Hi All,

That movie is not at all far from reallity. My wife works for a Police Department, and with your date of birth,or social security#, or your name or alias, she can find out an awlful lot about someone. If you have your social security # in your computer{as in online banking ,or other files} ,and you get hacked,or you are careless, and reveal your SS#,your identity is stolen. Her department deals with several identity thefts a month. In all cases their SS# was in their computer. I also have a friend that is a detective/bounty hunter, and uses the same info to find bail jumpers, dead beat dads, loan defaulters, etc. He was bragging that he could tell us what brand of toilet paper we use. He lives in South Carolina, and we in Pa.,and has never been to our house. I said prove it,and in 3 days gave us a report of where my wife used her credit cards, and where she shopped, bought gasoline, had her hair done, what branch bank she did a money transfer, and the store we bought our toilet paper ! The other night her sister called, and said that her apartment neighbor was hauled away by police, and wondered what happened. My wife got on a local website{not police related},and found out that he was arrested for domestic assult, and in Lancaster County Prison awaiting trial. All within 10 minutes, just using his name. Keep ALL your personal information out of your computer, and be careful when filling out forms with personal information on them. Or you maybe subject of the next movie joke.

Here's a rant...I posted that link...and couldn't figure out if it was funny or scarry, especially given this phone tapping thing G_dub is dealing with.

My Pa died last year, and he wasn't really good at records and Ma didn't do much except cook dinner and visit the library...All of a sudden, we were faced with the questions of what do you do with the estate, how much did he owe on his car, what's with these credit cards, what about the house etc. Out of necessity, we went on the web and it was really, really, really, really really, really mind boggling how much info is out there if you have a SS# and a few vital statistics.

So...I'm sensitive now, and I do take exception when I call Dominoe's Pizza and they read my phone number, my name and roll off my address.

I get pissed when a spammer see's that I visited Northern Tool and I get an offer for a new sander. I get more madd, even with spam blockers, when I get the endless stream of spam for diet pills, sexual enhancement stuff and foreign dates.

I resent the thought that if I search the "wrong" places...someone in a super secret, secure, national interest place, might notice.

Paranoid, I guess.... :x
