Been reading from the local public library - here is one of interest:

"Ready to Roll"
A Celebration of the Classic American Travel Trailer

Keister, Douglas
Ready to roll / Douglas Keister, Arrol Gellner
ISBN 0-670-03055-4
1. Travel Trailers - United States - History. 2. Travel trailers - United States - Pictoral works

Viking Studio
Published by the Penguin Group, 2003

Discusses history of travel trailers in the U.S. starting with 1900 through 1999 with excellent color plates.

Chapters:

1. Hitting the road (history)
2. Tents and Teardrops (YEAH, Tears are first!)
3. Aerocars (5th wheel luxury trailers towed by automobiles, even shows why "5th wheel" came about)
4. Bread Loaves
5. Canned Hams
6. Hawley & Wally (post WW II aircraft technoloy for trailers)
7. Great Nomadic Neighborhoods (Trailer parks history)
8. Endings & Encores (Piper's Maxitear is on pg 131...)

Resources (loads of URL's, good for a few weeks of browsing)

Acknowledgements (Any of you on those pages?)

GREAT Book, might even buy one for myself!

I know Doug and he took a lot of pictures of the interior of my Dalton (Canned Ham). But I guess he ran out of room and they didn't make the book.

Have a good day.
