Have you noticed most every phase of construction often requires the purchase of a new tool. You have just cut the sides of your teardrop and are master of the jig saw, but your jig saw won’t put a fancy edge on that cabinet door, so you need a router. It’s not my fault most tools on the market are made for a specific use? Not that I mind, but my shop seems to be shrinking. The floor space is getting smaller and smaller. As hard as it is to resist, I don’t think a wood lathe or router will ever find a place in the living room, (the lighting is too bad). Frightning as it may seem, it has happened to others, and it could happen to you. Very few are immune to the new tool proudly displayed in the main isle of the hardware store. So remember, if the walls of your shop seem to close in on you, and the path to your table saw starts to narrow, don’t reach for your digital ruler, or your sonic tape measure, they won’t help you here. Just step back and take a deep breath, for you have just entered another dimension known as “THE TEARDROP ZONE”.
