How many computers do you have?

Postby asianflava » Wed Apr 26, 2006 1:08 am

I posted in another thread that I fixed a problem by using a different computer. After I re-read it I thought, how many people would be able to do that?

Out of curiosity, how many computers do you have at home?

I have 2 1/2 desktops, and 1 laptop on my home wired/wireless network. I say 1/2 because it is an old ME machine that is connected to my main system via a KVM switch. Therefore, it is just a box with no Keyboard, Monitor, or Mouse.

Two desk tops and one laptop. All three of them have problems (it couldn't be me :frustrated: ).

Two desktop PCs and two laptops. Plus an SX64 kicking around for those who know what that is.

Too much time on computers.

Nick.

I've got one desktop, one laptop, a wife, two female dogs and a female cat. That's enough for me!

I have 2 PCs that I run all the time. My wife use another PC and we have a laptop. I also have a linix machine that is just parts without a case for experimenting. Almost forgot that I have an old 366 Dell laptop that I use sometimes for internet access and troubleshooting. Just gave away 2 other PCs to releatives with small kids. Got lots of spare parts, that could almost put another one together if need be. You know, just a standard household as far as computers go! :D

Four desktops, one for me, one for the wife and one for the kids, plus one I keep hoping to turn into a Linux box to play around with. All running on a hybrid wired/wireless home network.

We have 4 to 5 desktops depending on the day, 3 laptops, a web server and a TV computer.

Of course those are just the ones that run all the time. :D

6 in use, and 4 parts machines on the shelf for future projects.

Gotta get rid of some of this stuff!! :?

8 in all. 1 media center, 1 in my daughters room, 2 laptops, In my office is 1 main, 1 linux box, 1 file server and 1 that runs all my X-10 toys- remote control lighting and cameras. All networked and PC anywhere so I have VPN from anywhere.
Enough parts to build a few more and a test box to troubleshoot hardware.
But I'm not a computer nut or anything. I just build them as a hobby.

Usually anywhere from 2 to 4 desktops hooked up and running plus one laptop, at last count there where approximately 10 more in the basement (it varies weekly) in various stages of construction/de-construction plus all the misc parts and pieces that have been saved for later use which when you think about it is pretty stupid when you consider that any new part you put in your PC is outdated before you actually get it turned on. Hmmmm, maybe time for a scrap day.

I've got a desktop with a dead harddrive (soon to be replaced) and a laptop at home. At work, I've got 3 desktops and a different laptop. There's probly a dozen or so old dead desktops laying around between the two places. All the current computers are Dells. The dead ones (except for the first one I mentioned) are mostly Compaqs. :D
