Help with this delimma

Postby s4son » Sun May 07, 2006 8:12 pm

I have the opportunity to purchase a 13' Scamp for $1800. It's not perfect but it is very usable. What do you guys think? My wife says I don't need 2 campers and to ask the folks on the forum.

Scott

I think 4 campers is just right, 3 is not enough and 5 is too many. 8)

Not a bad price for a little "egg". But if I had to choose between an "egg" and a teardrop, I'd pick the teardrop. Save your money for a larger Casita or Scamp later on and enjoy your teardrop for a while. (Just my opinion, but it didn't cost you anything.)
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

I do not know about your wife 'but with mine it would be a no win situation. If I did not buy it and the first time we had to cook in the rain (chances are it is going to happen)she would say you should have bought the cute little trailer with the kitchem inside If I did she would say you can only pull one at a time.down side I would have two trailers untill I dicided which one you liked better the upside I woluld have more places to hide
when she is in one of her moods ,but back to the original ? either way I would be wrong.

Okay we all know the crazy lady with 10 cats, as you get more cats you get more crazy! So I have 2 trailers, and both have special uses, one is for the way vintage neeeeed and the other is for my wife to make margaritas in. Justifying another trailer would be like trying to justify a third cat it is just asking for that short road to crazy :? Image

Scott, I'll ask my wife what she thinks too, as soon as I find one. Don't hold your breath though. They're in short supply around here.

Scott, I think the Scamps are just such cute little eggs and for the money it would be hard to passup...I like the Scamp but just luv de little TD's...you've camped in the rain, so you know what an advantage a Scamp has in that situation...tell her the folks on the board say ya need both ;)
madjack 8)
p.s. if I could only have one it would be the TD, and I would use some of the cash I didn't spend on one of those really nice screen houses from Paha Que like Arne has...don't forget the gas mileage factor in your considerations...

Scott, I've got a 16' Scamp I'm looking to sell as it's a little too heavy for my Wrangler to tow at 1820# empty. The 13' would be about perfect for my family of 4 to go camping. If you decide not to, let me know, as I'd be very interested.

I've purchased a Pleasant Valley basic TD and still need to take the trip to Canton to get it. That will be my camping TD when I go wheeling and away for the weekend with my son. The TD will fit in my sideyard parking space with my utility trailer.

Thanks.
