RV Power Converter vs Meanwell Power Supply

Assuming that I don't need 45+ amps of 12v or a built in battery charger, is there any reason to use an RV Power Converter over a Meanwell type 12V power supply like the one below? All I'm planning on running off it is 3 single bulb LED lights (most likely not more than 2 of them at a time) and maybe a 12v fan.

Just don't even think about using this to charge your battery.

It will put out plenty of 12 VDC power to run fans, lights, etc.

Iota Engineering makes nice units that can be used as a battery charger (3 stage plus EQ with the IQ4 option), as well as supply DC current for direct use. They have a variety of amperage outputs and if the need arises in the future two identical units can be paralleld. More money than the Meanwell. Don, it looks as though the IOTA converters are available through distributors only. Any suggestion about where to price one? Any idea of how expensive they are?

If the 45A unit is much more than $175, I'd recommend the old standby Power Dynamics 4045. Given that the IOTA doesn't provide 120 VAC load center capabilities.

I bought my first from Northern AZ Wind & Sun and subsequently three more from TheSolarBiz At the time those two had best prices within a few dollars as they do today. I have moved some from one RV to another as we changed RV's. I sold one and still have three.

If I knew that existed when I wired my TD, I probably would have used it. But ......

And if I opt to put 12 VDC in my current trailer (a '71 Aristocrat Lo-Liner), I'll certainly put the IOTA on my list. The Lo-Liner doesn't need any of the 120 VAC side of the PD.

Understood, but if I put a battery and converter in my Aristocrat Lo-Liner trailer, I don't need the 120 VAC side of the PD at all, because there is already a 120 VAC breaker box in the trailer. All I will need is the 12 VDC side, and I can't see duplicating that functionality, just to buy American.

I already have a PD4045 in the teardrop. It's different horses.....
