DG, we used that exact same charger on a previous build...it is OK but it is a cheapy and I would use 12v as needed and use the charger daily to rechage the batteries...many of the smart chargers can be hardwired directly into the system and used like you asked but I could find no tech info on that charger, that states you can use it thataway...we hardwired it into the system but used a double pole double throw switch to control 120vac to the charger and 12vdc to the battery...as I stated above...it is a real cheapy....

thanks MJ,
i know it is a cheepy, walmart for about 1 bucks. so far i have only plugged it in and attached to the battery after a weekend of camping for a couple of days. seems to work pretty good that way.
which charger woudl you purchase to hardwire to your battery, charge battery from shore power while running 12v stuff?

...if you read the tech info, it is also rated as a switchable power supply and can be hardwired directly into the system and run(over a battery) while the system is in use...there are others as well, the models from C-tek and ProMarine, come to mind as does something such as the convetor from WFCO
