LED lighting by Ikea?

Postby vrooom3440 » Fri Oct 24, 2008 6:12 pm

I was dashing through the Ikea store with my daughter and had to stop and check out the LED light bars. What can I say, she insisted.

These things have a power wart built into the cord...
Looking closer the output is rated at 12v
Looks like it is setup to plug in 4 seperate LED light bar segments.

Looks like a natural to light up the inside of a small space.

Anybody up to try a cofferred ceiling with hidden indirect lighting in their project? 8)

If you need cheap and bright light, I bought some of these little guys at Big Lots for $9. They are really bright and small.

We are going to use them in our TTT.

Some IKEA lights have been used in travel trailers, and I have a set intended for that purpose but not installed yet. In the set I have, the power supply voltage is quite closely regulated, and another person with the same set found that direct "12V" battery supply can fry them (they're not expected to experience anthing more than 12V).
